Socio-Economic Research and Surveys
Our SERS unit is responsible for socio-economic assessment and impact studies. The impact analysis can quantify direct, indirect and induced impact of new investment and policies. The economic impact estimated includes: impact on gross domestic product (GDP), infrastructure and capital utlisation, employment (job creation), changes in personal income (including poor households), business production (and SMMEs), sales, tax collections, and balance of payments. The SERS unit uses both quantitative and qualitative research methods involving the collection of secondary and primary data collection.
